One half tablet (or a suitable weight appropriate dose) of Heartgard for Cats (or a similar ivermectin product) has been previously recommended to be given to a ferret every month. Selamectin (Revolution) dosed appropriately can also be used. Discuss this and clear it with your veterinarian before treating your ferret. Confirm status with a negative heartworm test before preventative medication is administered.
