My vet sent out a urinalysis because my dog was peeing blood. The results show no bacteria and my appt isn’t for a few days. Any ideas what it can be

Bloody urine can be due to a problem with the upper or lower urinary tract. If your dog is straining to urinate or urinates frequently, she could have a bladder issue that inflames the bladder and causes her to urinate blood (such as an infection, stones, tumor). She can still have a urinary tract infection if not bacteria was seen on the urinalysis. A urine culture would be the best test to confirm this. Any reason for bleeding can also be due to a systemic disease (low platelets or a clotting disorder). However, I would recommend calling or seeing your vet again if the bloody urine has not gone away. An x-ray or abdominal ultrasound may be warranted to further work up this issue.
