The baby axolotl I have is also appearing lifeless. It isn’t active at all anymore like my other axolotls I raised as babies likes to swim around a lot, this one just floats and does not move at all anymore. Is it dying? The floating also hasn’t stopped. Is it bloated or impacted?

It could be either bloating or impaction. Axies are sensitive to poor water quality, especially elevated ammonia or nitrite levels. Use a home test kit or submit a sample to check levels. Partial water changes can be done daily to decrease levels and maintain quality. Use only aged or conditioned water. Axolotls are also sensitive to strong currents. If possible, decrease filter flow to the lowest level possible. Water temperature should be maintained between 50 F and 68 F.
Many traditional fish medications can be toxic to axolotls, so care must be taken before treating. If water changes do not improve the condition, consider an exam with a vet experienced in treating reptiles and amphibians. The website caudata.org is also an excellent resource for information about axolotls.
