My new kitten seems to have bad skin. She has scabs all over and these dandruff and pimple things on her back and head. She also has a lot of folds on her skin even though she isn’t fat. The vet said it was because of worms and gave her Broadline Spot On dewormer. I have not seen the worms in her poop yet though. Is there any supplement or shampoo I can give her to make her skin better? They seem to be itching and irritating her sometimes especially the scabs on her tail and paws.

Thanks for using PetCoach! You may not see worms pass in the stool after treatment and that is normal. Sometimes those treatments take a little while to fully work, too. I would be concerned she has additional parasite problems on her skin like demodex or scabies (both microscopic). The vet would need to do a skin scrape to look for these. If that’s not the cause she may have a bacterial infection that is causing her discomfort. You can try a kitten shampoo from a pet store with aloe and oatmeal to bathe her in. Do not use human shampoo as it can make her worse. If that doesn’t help I would have the vet check for the things I mentioned above. Good luck and kisses to Matilda!
