I bought a 5 mth old Yorkie puppy last week, and within the week, she has had three seizures. They last about 2 minutes..not unconscious, thrashing on the floor, laying on side with four feet kicking. No frothing at mouth or loss of urine,. Acts very normal afterwards. Took her to the vet, but they wanted to do all kinds of tests, possible surgery. Glucose test ok. Said possible liver shunt. Is there natural things I can do since can’t spend the $ on tests, surgery, visits, etc etc.

Poor Zoey! Unfortunately at her age, a liver shunt could be possible causing her seizures and there are no natural remedies for this. Surgery is the only option. If paying for a vet is an issue, you can see if your vet accepts payment plans, if there is a low cost clinic in your area, or you can apply for Care Credit online. There is also an organization called Red Rover that give grants for treatment of sick animals, and you can see if you qualify for one of their grants. Best Friends also has a list of resources that offer financial assistance on their website.

I hope one of these resources helps you to afford what's needed for Zoey.
