My 7 month old puppy (Belgian Malinois) looks very bloated and has a distended belly. He hasn’t eaten since this morning, is not in pain or acting abnormally. Is bloating always cause for concern? What could be causing the sudden bloating if he hasn’t eaten in the last few hours?

If he is not acting painful or attempting to vomit it may not be a problem. I’m wondering if there’s a chance he could have gotten into some food somewhere- this would be the most common cause of bloating in a young otherwise healthy dog. Parasites would be another possibility.
