I have an 11 year old spoodle and recently she has been acting odd during sleep. I’m aware that dogs do dream during sleep and tend to twitch, move about, etc. but recently she has been shaking and spasming quite violently and it’s been very often, quite a few times per night. She’s also been more on edge while awake and has started barking more than before. I’m just worried that because of her age something might be happening. Any advice or information would be helpful, thanks.

I would video the event at night and talk to vet about it possibly being a seizure. At her age it can be pain also or even a form of dementia/alheizmers that dogs can get. It causes them to change sleep patterns and appear lost and confused at times. You vet can review the video and provide appropriate medication to help make her more comfortable at night
