My Bichon, Rocky, has separation anxiety. He is especially attached to my grandmother. When he is left alone at home he poops and pees everywhere. He is also unneutered. Will neutering him help with the separation anxiety? There will be a time in the future where he will need to be left home alone for hours at a time, so this is really my last option. Thank you!

Thanks for using PetCoach! Yes, neutering a male dog can certainly correct certain behaviors so this is something worth trying. Another thing you can consider is getting him a "thundershirt" (you can find it online). This works wonders for some dogs with separation anxiety and it is relatively inexpensive. I would recommend you neuter him and consider the "thundershirt". I think that this can help Rocky. I hope you find this information useful. Good luck and have a great night!
