We just got two kittens, 3.5 months old, and the female seems to be dropping little sesame seed like pieces. My husband looked this up and believes it’s a sign of tapeworms?? I’m concerned of the health of our other kitten and ours too! Is there just medication we can buy? It’s Christmas Eve so all the vets are closed. Help!

Tapeworms can cause itching and diarrhea but usually are asymptomatic in pets. they are spread through ingestion of fleas. They are not risk to people since it requires ingestion if a flea to complete the life cycle. They do sell dewormers over the counter at any pet store or feed store that can treat this. You want to look for one that contains praziquantel as this is a separate ingredient to treat tapeworms that is not included in all dewormers. I would treat both kittens at the same time and look into getting advantage for flea control also
