Hi, I recently bought two baby leopard gecko in two different places. They get along for a week or so and noticed one of their tails been bitten and half of its tail gone missing but I’m not to sure, how to treat the wound. Or what I should do? Is it possible my gecko bit of its own tail or other might done the damage ?

It may have been the other one or it may have gotten stuck somewhere in the cage and dropped its tail. Keep the gecko on paper towels for now. Use a diluted betadine or chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) solution to gently clean the exposed end. Do this once or twice daily. Clean the cage as needed to prevent contamination by droppings. Make sure he/she continues to eat normally. Limit handling until the tail grows back. Consider separating them in case it was aggression and to prevent harassment while the tail heals.
Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite, redness, bleeding or discharge from the stump. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your vet or a vet experienced in treating reptiles.
