My 5 month old chihuahua shows his teeth and growls at others who want pets/attention from me. As if he’s jealous maybe? Or if one of my roommates dogs tries to walk up to me he stares them down until they back off. I know he’s young and hopefully he can be trained out of it. He lives in a house with 3 German Shepherds, a cat and of course him. Do you think it’s because he’s the smallest? Or what’s the best way to approach this situation.

This can certainly turn into a dangerous situation. First, have Cloud neutered. Intact males are much more prone to aggression but training is still needed. Canine aggression is a complex behavior as it can stem from dominance, possessiveness, fear, anxiety, resource guarding or a combination. Most people are not familiar with reading canine body language and training. Because of this, I recommend to work with a professional trainer. Researching on your own will also be helpful. Familiarizing yourself with canine body language and dog training can help you to recognize what your pet is trying to say. You can find many books written on the topic and there is a trainer named Victoria Stilwell who I think is particularly helpful. Best of luck.
